    The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting to fill the permanent full-time position of Senior Engineer – Planning ELP for our Utilities department.

    This management position provides leadership, direction and continued development of the Electrical Planning section of the Electric Light & Power department.

    Responsible for the technical, operational and safety performance of the transmission system, substations, bulk distribution system and overall system function, the position demonstrates appropriate stewardship of financial and other departmental resources to achieve the section's goals and objectives in delivery of effective service to our customers.

    As a key member of the department's leadership team, there are ongoing opportunities to represent the department and establish collaborative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders within the community and other professional and political environments.

    56 per hour ($117,406 to $146,757 per annum) and an excellent benefit package; We are committed to a healthy, vibrant, and sustainable community.

    Electrical Engineering
    Eight to ten years of experience in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution systems, with eight years in execution and management of capital and maintenance projects

    Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to function appropriately with field staff, technical personnel, senior management, external stakeholders and elected officials.

    Demonstrated commitment to training, mentoring, coaching and team building.
    Excellent analysis, assessment and decision-making skills.
    Knowledge of project management practices and principles would be beneficial.
    A valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's License with an acceptable driving record.
    56 per hour ($117,406 to $146,757 per annum)
