Temporary full-time position from May 2024 to Oct
Your role:
As Canada's national public broadcaster, diversity shapes the content we deliver every day. CBC/Radio-Canada is committed to reflecting Canada's diversity in its workforce, as well as across all of its platforms.
This assignment is to Ottawa Morning, Ottawa's No. 1-rated morning show, to work on the evening shift (approx 12PM to 8PM), from Sunday to Thursday.
Ottawa Morning helps listeners in the national capital get out of bed, out the door and onto their commute with all of the information they need each day.
As the show's Evening Producer you are committed to staying connected - with the news of the day and with the pulse of the city. You are a smart journalist with a competitive spirit. You are thorough, organized and independent. Your interests are wide-ranging and you connect easily with people from all walks of life - from cabinet ministers to school bus drivers. As the Evening Producer for Ottawa Morning, you are responsible for generating great ideas, gathering tape from a variety of sources, researching and writing scripts, assisting the Senior Producer with vetting scripts, and for connecting with colleagues in the newsroom on a daily basis. You are also the last one to tie together the loose ends before the morning crew takes over in the early hours. You work with the team under the direction of the Senior Producer to reach program objectives.
Key Tasks:
We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
