About the Role:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare to inmates within Client's correctional facility. You'll work collaboratively with a registered nurse to deliver evidence-based care following established guidelines.

Work Schedule:

Day Shift: This position requires working weekdays from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM.

Your Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Conduct health screenings, administer medications as prescribed, and provide first aid and basic life support to inmates and staff.

Treatment Planning: Contribute to treatment plans by communicating with security and treatment teams, documenting relevant patient information in medical records.

Collaboration: Maintain open communication with other departments to ensure seamless patient care.

Professional Development: Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning through continuing education, with a focus on correctional nursing practices.

You'll be a great fit if you have:

Correctional Experience: Prior experience working in a correctional or law enforcement setting is preferred.

Nursing Expertise: Experience or training in general nursing care and emergency medical procedures is essential.

Flexibility: You must be adaptable and willing to work various hours, days, and locations as needed to meet facility requirements.

Comprehensive Care: You'll provide a full spectrum of care, including routine, chronic, and emergency medical attention, ensuring continuity from admission to discharge.

Medication Management: Proficiency in safe medication administration according to Department of Corrections (DOC) policies is required.

Employee Care: You'll provide health services to staff in line with established protocols.

Compliance: Adherence to operational policies, Health Services guidelines, ACA standards of care, and Board of Nursing regulations is mandatory.

Licensing: A valid and unrestricted Virginia LPN license or a multi-state compact license is required.

Recent Graduates: If you're a recent graduate of a Virginia nursing program and haven't obtained your license yet, proof of scheduling the NCLEX-PN exam is necessary upon application.
