Are you passionate about using research to drive positive change? Join us in our mission to advance economic justice for women through rigorous analysis and advocacy.

As a volunteer Research Analyst, you will play a crucial role in uncovering insights and data that inform our efforts to empower women economically.

From delving into systemic barriers to identifying policy solutions, your research will help shape our initiatives.

Canadian Center for Women's Empowerment (CCFWE) is a national registered non-profit organization dedicated to empowering domestic violence survivors to recover from economic abuse through advocacy, education, and policy change.

We work in partnership to ensure women have access to and control over their own economic resources.

We focus on four strategic priorities:
public education and awareness-raising; Mental health and wellness; and influencing policy.

Our aim now is to ensure that policy and practice recognizes economic abuse so that victim-survivors are supported to achieve economic justice and abusers are held accountable for their behaviour.

Conduct in-depth research on issues related to economic justice for women, including barriers to financial independence, gender wage gap, access to affordable housing, and employment discrimination.

Collect and analyze data from various sources, such as academic research, government reports, and surveys, to identify trends, disparities, and gaps in economic opportunities for women.

Utilize a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to provide comprehensive insights into issues related to economic justice for women.

This includes conducting interviews, focus groups, and case studies to gather qualitative data, as well as analyzing statistical data and trends to provide quantitative analysis.

Prepare detailed research reports, briefs, and presentations that synthesize key findings and recommendations for policymakers, stakeholders, and the public.

Work with the Policy Director to design research projects that address the complexities of economic abuse within the context of broader societal issues, such as housing, employment, education, and healthcare, with a focus on achieving systemic change.

Collaborate with other team members, including the policy team and communications teams, to integrate research findings into advocacy strategies and materials.

Assist with data collection and analysis for program evaluation and impact assessment, helping to measure the effectiveness of the organization's interventions and initiatives.

Support grant writing and fundraising efforts by providing research-based evidence and data to support funding proposals and grant applications.

Engage with external stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, and community organizations, to exchange knowledge and expertise on issues related to economic justice for women.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Gender Studies, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 2 years experience in conducting research, data analysis, and report writing, preferably in a non-profit, academic, or research setting.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data from various sources.

Proficiency in research methodologies, including both qualitative (interviews, focus groups, case studies) and quantitative (statistical analysis, survey design) research methods.

Lived experience of/or experience working with diverse communities (considered an asset).

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and integrity in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex research findings to diverse audiences.
Proficiency in French is an asset, but not a requirement.

    Remote: 5-7 hours per week.

We prioritize diversity and inclusion and are dedicated to accommodating any needs you may have throughout the application process.
