    Wood in Saskatoon is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer – Junior (EIT) to join our Minerals, Metals and Life Sciences group . This is an entry level position suitable to recent university graduates or graduates with up to 4 years of experience.   • Work with Senior Engineers and Designers to complete projects and grow your skills in the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls fields.
  • Gain an understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and how to apply it to systems design.
  • Prepare engineering lists, specifications and datasheets to support construction and equipment procurement packages.
  • Complete 2D drafting for Electrical and Instrumentation packages such as single line diagrams, motor control schematics and loop diagrams. Some design work of these packages will also be required.
  • Assist with the creation of design calculations to support designs. These may include voltage drop, lighting levels, cable tray fill, heat trace requirements, etc.
  • Co-ordinate drawing packages for issue and prepare issue folders for electronic files.
  • Electrical Engineering (BSc) degree with a focus on the following program streams: Sensors, Circuits & Devices and Power & Energy.
  • Up to 4 years of experience; primarily for supporting electrical engineering projects.
  • Everyday use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • 2D CAD drafting and designing skills, particularly of logic circuits and power circuits, using AutoCAD is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity on using power system software to perform calculations is beneficial (. ETAP).
  • Team player, but also able to work independently and take responsibility.
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks in a highly scheduled environment.
  • Ability to register as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in the province of Saskatchewan.
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
