    About the Social Media Coordinator


Working as a team with the Social Media & Content Manager, this role is crucial for growing and engaging a wide audience on our social media channels and keeping AisB's content relevant and relatable.

Not only will you be supporting recruitment for our youthled programs, but you will also be engaging our followers with content about Canadian democracy and community engagement that is informative, thought provoking, and shareable.


This role requires a keen understanding of internet culture and a readiness to elevate our current social media strategy through dynamic video content and pioneering methods.

A strong grasp of the Canadian political landscape is essential.


The Social Media Coordinator is an individual deeply passionate about civic education and engagement, with a great ability for crafting compelling content that captivates and engages our audience.


The Social Media Coordinator collaborates with the Programs team to support recruitment efforts as well as the Research & Impact team on various projects and initiatives.


What You'll Be Doing:


Social Media Management Maintain and implement the content calendar developed with the Social Media & Content Manager which will include activations for various AisB campaigns and recruitment periods Engage with followers, key community partners, and influencers to build and grow the AisB online presence Respond to social media comments and direct messages in a timely manner following appropriate organizational process
Content Creation Create organic, engaging content (graphics & short form video), source images and write compelling copy for social media Assist in brainstorming new content & new campaigns Keep track of trends related to the youth experience to contribute to the development of campaigns alongside the Social Media & Content Manager
Project Coordination Keep track of ongoing projects and tasks, including finances and administration Assist in the organization and coordination of social media lives & other online events Effectively communicate and coordinate with other departments where needed to ensure deliverables are met Collaborate with external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure all deliverables are received by established deadlines Regular collaboration and check ins with the Social Media & Content Manager, following AisB policies and procedures
What You Bring to the Role:
  • Strong knowledge and love of social media platforms (Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, & LinkedIn)
Comfortable creating and editing short form videos for social media. Specifically talking style videos with yourself in it Basic knowledge of graphic design (adobe suite, figma & canva) An understanding of social media analytics Strong copywriting skills Organized, timely, and structured Strong understanding and interest in Canadian democratic systems & political landscape Bilingualism is an asset
