    As an experienced Visual Arts Instructor, you will teachavarietyofvisualarts(clay, drawing,painting,ceramics,cartooning, two-and-three-dimensional media) coursesforpreschoolers, children,youth,andadults.Under supervision, you will be responsible for the leading, planning and instruction in visual artsprograms requiring the development of skill base and knowledge in theactivity/discipline. Primary duties include:

  • Teach specific skills to participants through progressive development and sharing of knowledge.
  • Develop course outlines, lesson plans, and resources based on named learning goals and outcomes.
  • Provide encouragement and coaching of other instructors (when assigned) and provide recommendations on enhancing performance and program delivery.
  • Ensure safety of participants.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, and program space.
  • Maintain program records and assist with program evaluation.
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service.
  • Level 2 Instructor's will also provide encouragement and coaching to other instructors.
    • Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 yearsofage.
  • Level 1 Instructors must have the following qualifications:At least 1 year of instructional experience in visual arts is required.Post-secondary education in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field and/or a recognized teachingcertification in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field is required.
  • Level 2 Instructors must have the following qualifications:Anadvanced post-secondary education in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field and/or a recognized advanced teachingcertification in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field is required.At least 3 years of instructional experience in visual arts is required.An extensivepersonalbaseofresourcematerialin the field is essential.Recognitionasan "authority"inyourfieldby aninstitution,peersand/orpublic.Abilitytodevelop a curriculum-based program.
  • Strong communication skills along with demonstrated initiative, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Sound judgment in safety standards and well-developed customer service skills.
