Reporting to the Manager, Settlement and Structured Transactions (S&STG), the Analyst is responsible for the settlement of energy market trades and long-term contracts.
Understand the energy markets' settlement and charge code algorithms to develop shadow calculations and improve validation processesUnderstand the corporate structure to allocate revenue and charges to the right legal entity and business strategy
Conduct research and analysis to remain current with market rules that impact settlement
Validate and prepare regulatory reports
Collaborate with various departments to ensure data accuracy in financial and regulatory reports
Work on systems improvements and implementation projects and execute User Acceptance Testing
Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related discipline
Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience in a related field, preferably in the energy industry;· Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and quality of work
Ability to locate and collect data from appropriate sources and analyze it to prepare meaningful and concise reports
Ability to self-motivate and work on a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously in an ever-changing environment
Knowledge of Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS) is an asset
Knowledge of Trade capture and Data Validation Systems, such as Open Access Technology International, Inc.(OATI) is an asset
This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 3 days to perform most effectively.
