    What it's like to be a Northbridge External Communications Specialist

    The External Communications Specialist at Northbridge Financial Corporation (NBFC) will work closely with our content team and digital marketing team to drive the evolution of NBFC's marketing and communications activities. This is an exciting and challenging role where the successful candidate will develop content strategies that amplify the reach and relevance of our brands. This is a 1 year contract position.

    We want your talent

    If you are great at:

    • Drafting press releases announcing company updates, partnerships, awards, etc.
    • Assisting with the management of media inquiries by communicating with reporters and working with internal subject matter experts on responses. Working with executive stakeholders to draft media responses when necessary.
    • Pitching stories to reporters to help establish Northbridge as an industry leader and increase brand visibility.
    • Assisting internal subject matter experts with preparation for external speaking engagements by drafting talking points.
    • Copywriting and proofreading a variety of external communications pieces including blog posts, advertisements, eBooks, advertorials, brochures, landing
    • pages, website copy, social media posts, etc.
    • Ensuring any content you produce for brand websites is SEO-optimized to help drive website traffic, brand awareness, and conversion rates across all Northbridge brands.
    • Reporting on effectiveness of content strategy, looking at website traffic, brand awareness, and conversion rates across all Northbridge brands.
    • Creating social videos through Lumen5 tool for social channels across all three NBFC brands.

    If you have:

    • Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, or a related field.
    • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in external communications within a B2B or B2C environment.
    • Exceptional written communication skills, and an understanding of how to write for the web.
    • Proven experience with interviewing individuals for external communications pieces.
    • Experience with CMS and website optimization tools, including WordPress, Hubspot, AhRefs, SEMRush, and other SEO tracking tools.
    • Technical SEO knowledge and experience analyzing/interpreting keyword data
    • Experience putting together content marketing campaigns and ongoing content development plans.
    • Strong creative, project management and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in French is a significant advantage but not mandatory.
