    Position Overview
    The Environmental Specialist at YVR is a key role with a wide range of responsibilities. This specialist manages the airport's archaeological program, conducts environmental assessments, and provides expert advice on archaeological resource planning and management. They oversee archaeological fieldwork, monitor environmental impacts, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure sustainable development while preserving the airport's heritage.
    Key Responsibilities Include:
    • Expert advice on archaeological planning for development activities.
    • Conducting audits and assessments of archaeological sites.
    • Preparing cultural resources reports and coordinating archaeology projects.
    • Developing and implementing YVR's Archaeological Program.
    • Representing the Airport Authority at public events and consultations.
    • Supervising staff and consultants involved in the program.
    Key Qualifications:
    • University Degree in Archaeology or Anthropology.
    • 7 years' experience in archaeological or environmental resource management.
    • Experience working with local First Nations groups.
    • Liaising with regulatory bodies and government agencies.
    • Valid BC driver's license.
    • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.

    Salary Range: $91,587 to $119,696 per year, based on a 37.5-hour work week, tailored to experience and qualifications.
