    The Role
    We are currently recruiting an experienced Construction Manager with industrial concrete expertise to lead our field and operational support staff on a large concrete project that will take approximately 2.5 years with the potential for more work should the project be a success. This position is based out of our head office in Edmonton and on site (30/ hours per week while in the office and 10 hours per day Monday to Thursday and 8 on Friday while on site plus overtime as required. Site start time is 7:00 am. Looking for those that can work local to Fort Saskatchewan. There is no LOA for this job. Compensation/Benefits
    ● Can hire as a direct employee or as a *Direct Service Provider/Sub Contractor.

    Large scale industrial concrete work. Form work, prep work, grade beams, slab on grade, piles, rebar, place and finish, winter concrete, pile caps, etc. The CM will manage both the self-performed and subcontracted project work. Job Duties/Responsibilities The Construction Manager is responsible for the overall success and profitability of the project. He/She will work closely with various stakeholders like Estimating, Pre-Construction, Operations, HR, Safety and Field teams to prepare/review estimates, contracts, budgets, schedules, forecast and manager manpower, procure sub-contractors and equipment and ultimately execute the project successfully and safely. The Construction Manager is also the main point of contact (liaison) between the Company and the Client.
    • Review/complete all field documentation, timesheets, QC reports and safety documentation
    • Strong understanding of the contracts and drawings to address out of contract/additional work
    • Determine what scopes will be self performed and sub contracted. Manage both.
    • Maintain and develop a strong relationship with the client and attend regular site construction meetings to address schedule, delivery and technical issues.
    • Oversee estimates for project scope of work, including labor, supplies, materials and other costs
    • Drive cost-effective strategies in the field
    • Hire and assign construction work to each project scope
    • Assist with project planning requirement
    • Forecast manpower and equipment needs for the project
    • Ensure safety standards are being met and when possible exceeded.
    • Coordinate construction services and activities
    • Maintain construction schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure milestones are met
    • Lead direct and indirect reports - ensure proper mentoring, training, performance management and when necessary discipline is taking place.
    Education/Skills/Qualifications
    • Minimum of 10 + years of Superintendent or Construction Manager experience leading large scale industrial, heavy civil, institutional or commercial concrete projects.
    • A journeyman level trades background is preferred or equivalent non-ticketed experience.
    • Gold Seal would be considered an asset.
    • PMP designation would be considered an asset.
    • Must be able to read and understand drawings and contracts.
    • Good computer skills required. e.g Bluebeam, Excel, Gmail, Google Drive, google calendar. We are a Google based company.
    • A demonstrated background in team leadership with a focus on worksite safety.
    • Strong construction knowledge to plan and forecast man, material and subcontractors.
    • Highly effective client relations, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
    • Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • A natural leader and mentor that isn't afraid to get on the tools when needed to train and lead by example.
