    Description

    Job Title: Senior Estimator (ICI Construction)

    Location: Toronto and Surrounding areas

    Salary: Up to $130,000

    Position Overview: As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in pre-construction phase by providing accurate cost estimates and detailed project proposals for ICI construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ICI construction methods, materials, and market trends, coupled with exceptional analytical and negotiation skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
    • Utilize industry-leading estimating software and tools to quantify materials, labor, equipment, and other project costs accurately.
    • Conduct thorough research and analysis of market conditions, subcontractor pricing, and material costs to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in cost estimates.
    • Develop detailed project proposals, including breakdowns of costs, timelines, and scope of work, for presentation to clients and stakeholders.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and address any inquiries.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop value engineering solutions and alternative cost-saving measures without compromising quality or project integrity.
    • Maintain a database of historical cost data, subcontractor bids, and other relevant information to support future estimating efforts and improve accuracy.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to ICI construction estimating, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development and process improvement.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating roles within the ICI construction industry, with a strong track record of successfully estimating and bidding on complex projects.
    • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage Estimating) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes relevant to the ICI sector.
    • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Professional certifications (e.g., CPE, PQS) or relevant industry affiliations are desirable.
