As the Property Manager (PM) you will provide leadership to your team and outstanding customer service to your clients, while managing a best-in-class food hall food hall property in Toronto, ON. You are responsible for all aspects of client and tenant satisfaction at this iconic culinary destination. Reporting to the Vice President, Retail Portfolio Management, asset management and owner, you will also be responsible for creating a hub for locals, visitors, and residents to dine & play, preparing budgets and financial reports, assist with managing tenant improvements and/or capital improvement projects, and developing your staff to create a bespoke culinary experience. You will be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) to both building owners and tenants to ensure an ongoing, successful relationship.

As the PM, you will contribute to the establishment and refinement of work quality, cultural initiatives, and best practices to drive results as a team. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Be the spokesperson for the property, representing owner
Be the point of contact with owners for day-to-day food hall operations
Maintaining the highest standards of food and beverage quality and guest service
Strive for operational excellence and maintain aesthetics of Food Hall as well as ensuring highest level of customer satisfaction rating
Providing leadership and direction to a team comprised of management and operations staff
Being an active contributor of the food hall's marketing and community engagement / events team.
Creating and maintaining meaningful partnerships with groups around the city - such as, non-profits, culinary organizations, breweries, arts & music groups, etc. and integrating them into Food Hall programming
Providing up-to-date reports for ownership of the development regarding the leasing, marketing, and overall operations of the development
Maintaining compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal laws including ensured adherence to all applicable liquor license laws as per AGCO
Manage on-site security as well as on-site risk management by developing and maintaining site specific policies / procedures
Hosting daily pre-opening briefings
Capital Project Management – work with consultants and / or project management team to ensure on time and on budget completion of scheduled projects
Proactive management of client, tenant and service provider relationship and proactive contract management including organizing, hosting, and running periodic training sessions for tenants
Focusing on the client experience by providing innovative solutions to the client and tenants
Operations and capital budgeting, reporting, and ensuring leases are effectively managed to ensure maximum financial return and preservation of the assets
Proactively support culture of environmental responsibility and social responsibility, which includes active energy management
Maximize the profitability of Food Hall including financial assessment of tenants, and collection of rent.
Point of contact with owners for day-to-day food hall operations
Support leasing team as needed
Be present / available to be on site for off-hours events / activities
Perform other property management tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Recruiting/Growth:
Lead recruiting of targeted candidates into PM management / operation team
Partner with new operations professionals to adopt culture, strategy, methodologies, and best practices
Champion of diversity & inclusion
Mentor, train, and develop skills:
Lead, develop, coach/mentor career growth and mobility, culture building initiatives to drive growth of a high-performance culture and team
Develop, grow, and oversee team of leasing professionals - training, developing, and coaching immediate subordinates- as the business line expands across Canada
Lead and ensure compliance with JLL Canada's training protocols and take all reasonable steps to make sure your direct managers are doing the same
WHAT YOU BRING :
Bachelor's degree required and advanced degree
Minimum of five (5) years of commercial property management experience, with industry related certification
Must have strong financial acumen and experience preparing budgets, CAM reconciliations, and other types of related financial reports
Must have both Smart Serve and Health & Safety Certifications
Effective communication and presentation skills required, as well as a proven track record in business development
Must contribute to the visually appealing aesthetic of Food Hall
Familiarity with building systems, lease negotiation, documentation, and administration
Must have at least three (3) years of experience managing property management team and Clients
Experience using a property management accounting platform, such as Yardi, Kardin or MRI is required
Front facing relationship builder and customer experience focused
Both verbal and written communication skills are vital, and of course you'll be good at establishing relationships with all levels of the organization & external clients.
You are people focused, seeking out and understanding the needs, perspectives and motivations of clients and team members alike.
Your ability to manage client and vendor relationships will allow for seamless conflict resolution, account maintenance, and overall development of client relationships
