In this position you provide various support to clients within residential community setting to meet the clients emotional, personal and physical needs.
We designed this position to foster learning of its incumbent and will provide hands-on learning opportunities.Our Supportive Housing program provides safe and secure housing and wraparound support to people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness.
This program offers 24/7 support services that are tailored to the self-identified needs and goals of each resident.This is a temporary Summer 2024 position for 14 weeks (subject to change).
Hours must be completed between Monday and Friday 9:00 am and 5:00 pm (as per grant rules)
Paid in-house training programs such as MANDT and Naloxone

Understanding of providing service to people with mental health challenges, intellectual disabilities and/or different learning abilities
Working with clients with a developmental disability and/or spectrum disorders, interaction with social agencies, experiencing psychiatric/personality disorders and history of conflict with the law
Gain experience in assessment, case/care plan development and implementation
MANDT Training (Crisis-Intervention)
Naloxone Training
Training 1:1 with Manager or designate 3-4 days – more provided if required
Review of all applicable Policy and Procedures
Systems training, student will be trained on all applicable systems to complete responsibilities
As a Tenant Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Participates in the assessment, goal setting, and program planning - such as Personal Service Plans - for individuals living semi independently.
Evaluates client needs and develops short term plans to meet such needs withtheactive participation of residents and their families.
Assists residents to function more independently in their own homes and in the community. Assists residents with daily life skills, social skills, and/or behaviour management. Nurtures opportunities and assists residents with activities such as grooming, basic cooking, money management, shopping, household safety, andpet care. Facilitates physical, recreational, educational, social, and vocationalactivities.Maintains oversight of the building as required to mitigate conflict amongst residents and/or other persons accessing theproperty.
Identifies social, economic, recreational, physical, vocational, andeducationalservices in the community that will meet clients' needs. Maintains liaison with other agencies, professionals, government officials, and the community.
Along with the other residence staff, monitors and ensures effective operation ofthefacility including quality control concerning cleaning equipment, indoor and outdoor maintenance, inventory, and food services.
Post-Secondary educational background in Social Services/Criminology/PsychologyProof of Covid-19 Vaccination
Permanent Residency or Canadian Citizenship
