Function Summary
Under the supervision of Pharmacy Leadership:
Perform all aspects of inpatient drug distribution at Bruyère.
Duties include computer order entry, dispensing, narcotic/ward stock management, sterile drug preparation, inventory management and other related tasks in the pharmacy and on patient care units.
Collaborate with members of the interprofessional team to improve medication management throughout the organization.Commit to living the Mission and Values of Bruyère.
Commit to patient and resident safety, on-going learning and continuous quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Community College Pharmacy Technician Diploma
- Registered in good standing as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Minimum of 6 months work as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting or similar environment
- Basic medical terminology
- Intermediate computer skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment within the Pharmacy
- Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and be flexible in a very active work environment.
- Willingness to work at multiple sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in French and English, spoken and written
