    Employment Type: 1 Full Time – Permanent and 2 Full Time Limited Term Positions – anticipated duration 12 months

    Salary Range: SP3, Level 5, $88,792- $110,990 per year. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

    Project Manager (Regulatory Projects) – Hybrid

    The Opportunity

    The Regulatory Projects team at the Alberta Energy Regulator is evolving Due to natural internal advancement and growth, we are thrilled to announce three exciting openings to join our team. We are seeking motivated, organized, and team-oriented Project Managers to lead impactful regulatory projects at the enterprise level. One position is available in a permanent capacity, while the other two are offered on a 12-month contract basis.

    As the Project Manager you will be responsible for the management, execution of the project management framework and the lead and expert in project management (PM) methodologies, tools and processes, providing project-specific guidance, organization and communication to the project team and its stakeholders.

    What your day-to-day will look like:

    • Collaborate with project team members, leaders, and stakeholders to precisely define project scope and essential deliverables, while establishing suitable timelines tailored to meet stakeholder and client requirements.
    • Determine and monitor the allocation and utilization of resources necessary for designated projects.
    • Motivate the project team to adhere to the defined scope and timelines.
    • Identify, monitor, and resolve risks and challenges associated with assigned projects, actively seeking solutions both within and external to the project environment whenever issues threaten project deliverables and timelines.
    • Offer comprehensive project performance reports encompassing status updates, progress evaluations, and risk assessments, highlighting areas necessitating intervention.
    • Knowledge in applying waterfall, hybrid or agile methodologies and tools to achieve project success.
    • Provide guidance and disseminate expertise to both internal and external project stakeholders on effective project management methodologies, tools and practices.

    What we're looking for in you:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, science, public policy, engineering, or a related discipline with 5+ years project/program management, experience in regulatory design & development.
    • Experience in the public sector or government agencies are considered an asset.
    • Knowledge of project management methodologies or working towards project management certification is considered an asset (i.e. PMP, CAPM)
    • PROSCI or other change management certifications are considered an asset.
    • Agile certifications are considered an asset.
    • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed written, verbal and presentation skills.
    • Exhibit adept problem-solving and decision-making capabilities alongside excellent communication skills, both internally and externally with stakeholders.
    • Experience with risk management, change management and stakeholder management.
