    Description
    Arthritis Research Canada is seeking a visionary and accomplished leader to serve as our next Executive Director.

    Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic leadership in executing the organization's mission, overseeing operations and financial management, and inspiring our team of researchers, staff and volunteers.

    This role provides a rare opportunity to lead a national scientific and medical research organization headquartered in Vancouver.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Vision & Implementation: Collaborate across disciplines, specialties, organizations, and communities to combine energies and share experiences and knowledge in pursuit of common goals and outcomes.
    • Board Governance: Serve as the primary liaison, providing support to facilitate effective board oversight and governance.
    • Financial Stewardship: Fiscal management including budgeting, financial reporting, audits and regulatory compliance.
    • Operations Leadership: Oversee all operations, facilities, human resources, administration and organizational policies.
    • Fundraising & Development: Collaborating with the development team and the Scientific Director to cultivate donor relationships, identify new revenue sources and maximize funding opportunities.
    • External Relations: Represent the organization as a spokesperson, build awareness and implement marketing strategies.
    • People Leadership: Provide inspiring leadership, coaching and performance management to staff and volunteers.
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in management, health, nonprofit, or related field (Master's preferred)
    • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in medical research, healthcare or nonprofit sectors
    • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive organizational growth and impact
    • Expertise in financial management, budgeting, compliance and overseeing operations
    • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build relationships with diverse groups
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations, fundraising strategies and the healthcare/research landscape
    • Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed for events and meetings

    Hiring Range:
    $155,000 – $160,000
