    Gate Gourmet Canada Inc. has its corporate head office in Mississauga, Ontario (referred to as our "Toronto office"). The company also has operations in Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa, Regina, Vancouver, and Winnipeg.
    As the Airline Accountant Technician, you will be responsible for tracking and compiling operationally related data.

    Duties include handling the company's financial records, entering data, generating invoices, recording financial transactions, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements.

    Performs technical accounting tasks such as account analysis, account reconciliation, and financial report writing in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and all international accounting standards.

    Controls account reconciliations and performs financial reporting as required, notably customer profitability including sales volume, revenue, cost and margin.

    Calculates and files airport taxes to airport authorities.
    Leads report submissions to government and regulatory authorities.
    Prepares airport lease accounting records in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS16).
    Performs month-end/year-end close and prepares general ledger journal entries;
    Maintains prepaid and accrual accounts and monitors and audits general ledger postings from field units.
    Keeps financial records and establishes, maintains and balances various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
    Conducts bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.

    Creates and approves cost center codes in accordance with global cost center structure guidelines in HRIS system – Workday.

    Creates and amends the internal controls, policies, and procedures
    Conducts month end reconciliations, entries, pricing, and shrinkage.
    Assists internal and external audits as required and manages payroll.

    5+ years SAP experience in FI/CO/MM and FA
    ~5+ years of bookkeeping experience
    ~5+ years of experience building reports and analyzing data
    ~5+ years general accounting in an ERP environment
    ~4+ years of experience with FileZilla, Ultimate Software, or equivalent payroll program
    ~3+ Oracle Hyperion Financial Management or HFM experience and SAP experience in MM/FA
    ~3+ years of experience with Workday
    ~ Experience managing airline accounting technicians
    ~ Database query skills
    ~ Expert skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint required
    ~ Strong planning and organizing skills
    ~ Completion of a college program in accounting in accounting, bookkeeping.
