    Description

    Reporting to the Manager, Training and Systems Support, this position supports Porter's Approved Maintenance Organization by overseeing the performance of functions related to the Technical Operations Training Program and Approved Training Organization.

    Supervise and Mentor a Team of Trainers, Instructors and Co-Ordinators to ensure the effective application of AMO and ATO training programs.

    Provide instructional and assessment techniques and guidance through lessons and review of courses and instruction.
    Oversee the delivery of theoretical and practical type endorsement training, deliver courses to support training schedules when required.
    Develop, coordinate, instruct and assess initial, recurrent, upgrade and additional training programs to Technical Operations team members.
    Assist with the development and maintenance of the Technical Operations Training Control Manual (TCM).

    Assist with the maintenance of training records for all Technical Operations team members and the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) courses and material.

    Develop online aircraft technical training to ensure compliance with requirements set out in the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).

    Ongoing training development in areas such as AME/ACA/Lead/MOC upgrades, aircraft maintenance documentation training, aircraft system maintenance and troubleshooting, line maintenance operations, etc.

    Gather input from stakeholders on the effectiveness of training programs, allowing for data driven improvement and evidenced based decision making.

    Promote current policies and procedures defined in the Maintenance Policy and Maintenance Control Manuals and incorporated Detailed Procedures Documents.

    Liaise with the Manager, Maintenance Quality Assurance to ensure corrective actions generated from audit findings are incorporated into training content as required.

    Revise existing Training Department procedures and generate new processes to enhance safety, knowledge and efficiencies.
    Chair regular Training Departmental meetings.
    understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.

    A college diploma in aircraft maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational facility
    Holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence
    Embraer experience an asset, E190 family
    experience working within a leadership capacity an asset (e.g. Maintenance Operations Coordinator, Lead Aircraft Certification Authority, etc.)
    Experience in learning and adult learning facilitation is an asset
    Excellent working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations with particular regard to CAR 573.Proficient computer skills with the ability to generate published documents
    Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive unit
    Experience working with technology to improve user experience: design, user-interface, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
    Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required
