Responsibilities of the Research Assistant I (Home Visit) include but are not limited to:

  • Data collection visits with study participants' children approximately 6-24 months post-birth
- _Please note that the majority of visits occur in study participants' homes_

  • Administration and scheduling of data collection home visits
  • Consistent communication with participants
  • Training and implementation in several child outcome tools including the Bayley IV
  • Monitor and maintain deadlines and schedules
  • Liaising with other Home Visit RAs across sites as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of research reports
  • Prepare written correspondence, reports and presentations using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Perform other general office related duties as required (e.g., photocopying, organizing and maintaining filing system)

Requirements:


  • Successful completion of a University degree, preferably psychology or in a relevant field
  • Possess a compassionate and flexible nature, and a clientcentred approach to research
  • A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle
  • Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Requires good judgement, problem solving and assessment abilities
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a flexibility to adjust to priorities
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work with a variety of individuals in a cooperative manner both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
