    Your Role:

    We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Power Division. Under the general supervision of a Team Leader or Manager, perform challenging and varied engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering. Participate in work planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Responsibilities:

  • Perform Conceptual and/or detail engineering of Industrial Electrical systems including power systems, control systems and instrumentation.
  • Perform equipment sizing, selection, and specification for various types of medium voltage and low voltage equipment.
  • Provide input to drafters for preparation of various engineering drawings, such as: General Arrangements, Instrument Loops, Wiring and Connection diagrams, Bill of Materials (BOM), etc.
  • Maintain effective customer contact to enhance working relationships.
  • Assist Leaders and Manager with definition and monitoring of work scopes, deliverables, schedules and budget.
  • Participate in walk-downs at the client's facilities.
  • Assist in providing responses to technical enquiries from clients, technical reviewers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Preparation and/or verification of procurement activities and deliverables.
  • Prepare purchase requisition, review technical content of supplier bids and technical submissions.
  • Perform any required inspections as necessary for construction support.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation in accordance with the Company QA programs and manuals.

    • Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/ Electromechanical Engineering and PEO membership
  • 10 or more years of engineering experience in design, installation, maintenance, and operation of industrial electrical systems: conventional and state-of-the-art.
  • Proven experience (10 years) working as an Electrical Engineer in the industrial or mining sector.
  • The selected candidate will be proficient in creating specifications for MV and LV switchgears, switchboards, generators, motor starters and medium/low voltage equipment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems and implementing effective solutions.
  • Experience with site construction support.
  • Excellent understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements related to electrical systems in industrial or mining environments.
  • Well developed communication, planning, and work organization skills.
  • Ability to work in an integrated team environment, and to effectively interface with employees at all levels as well as external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable and work under tight schedules in a fast pace environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.

    • The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

    Additional Information

    A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law.
