    Description

    Are you a Law Clerk growing your career and looking to specialize in corporate matters? Our client, a growing law firm in Ottawa, is seeking a Corporate Law Clerk to join their team.

    You will need at least two years of law clerk experience.


    Salary:
    $50,000-$65,000, depending on experienceAbout youTo be successful, you should have:2+ years of work experience, including internship or co-op placement, as a Law Clerk or Paralegal —experience in corporate law is an assetPost-secondary degree as a Law ClerkExperience with professional corporations and not-for-profit organizations would be a strong assetPC skills: MS Office, Document Management software and PC Law and/or Soluno (legal accounting software)

    Collaborative skills to work with lawyers, other clerks and staffIndependent reasoning on client filesAbout the roleYour responsibilities will include:

    Prepare corporate docs: governance, incorporation, amendments, dissolution, tax reorgs, and share & asset purchasesUpdate & review corporate minute booksManage ongoing corporate maintenance, searches, filings, and registrationsDetermine processes compliance with laws, regs, and standardsDraft docs for corporate transactions, mergers, acquisitions, purchase agreements, etc.

    Communicate with clients, lawyers, and stakeholdersAssist with general corporate tasks as neededHandle admin duties:
    email, calendars, meetings, correspondence, printingProcess dockets, billing, and accounts receivableOrganize client files using doc management system; attend to other duties as neededPerks & BenefitsComprehensive health benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)Wellness programsEducation/Training programQuestions?
