iGaming OntarioTM (iGO) has established a new online gaming (igaming) market provided through private gaming companies.

Formed in July 2021, iGO is working collaboratively with the Government of Ontario and Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to bring the world's best igaming experiences to the province in a safer environment, helping to protect consumers and provide more choice.

iGO is seeking a Commercial Legal Counsel to join its growing and dynamic team.

Reporting to the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, the Commercial Legal Counsel will provide high quality and timely legal advice and services including the negotiation and drafting of a range of contracts and the administration of Operating Agreements with current and prospective iGaming operators.


Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Negotiating, drafting, and providing advice on a wide range of commercial contracts on behalf of iGO.
  • Working collaboratively with the business on a wide range of daytoday commercial matters.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, partner agencies, and Government on issues affecting the operations of iGO, including providing advice on the drafting of regulation and legislation.
  • Provide sound legal advice and support on litigation strategies.
  • Providing advice and guidance to, and may supervise the work of, Legal Counsel.
  • A law degree with membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Three or more years of relevant working experience.
  • A strong understanding of the gaming/entertainment, and regulated industries.
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating and advising of commercial contracts, legislation and regulations.
  • Practical business judgement with great interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while being an effective and collaborative member of a team.
  • Team oriented and able to build relationships across a small and flat organization.
