The Township of Chatsworth is located just south of Owen Sound in the centre of scenic Grey County and is only a short two-hour drive from the GTA and other major cities. Rural and rustic in nature, Chatsworth boasts popular recreational areas including scenic waterfalls, inland lakes, and the Niagara Escarpment.

Chatsworth continues to meet the needs of its residents through strong leadership, public engagement, fiscal accountability and a proactive community strategy. Your Opportunity

· Work as part of the Senior Management Team with responsibility for the oversight of the Township's Road Infrastructure including maintenance and construction, landfill operations and gravel pits, and Municipal water services

· Manage the Public Works Department day-to-day operations including supervision of staff and ensuring health and safety

· Responsible for departmental purchases, tendering process, drafting and administering the Operating and Capital budgets

· Review Development Applications and determine impact on Public Works Department

· Support the cost effective and efficient delivery of departmental operations to meet the needs of residents

· Provide guidance and advice to Council regarding Township infrastructure

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Administrative Officer and Council and/or as may be required by law

What it Takes to do the Job

· Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology or related field

· A minimum of five (5) years related municipal experience in road construction including three (3) years in a supervisory role or equivalent experience in the private sector

· Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation

· Certified Road Supervisor (CRS) and Certified Municipal Officer (CMO) designations are considered an asset

· Valid Class DZ or AZ Driver's License is considered an asset

· Knowledge and understanding of Municipal budget practices

· Superior ability to lead, motivate and direct a team
