SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated hydrogeologist to join the Corporate Integration and Special Projects Division as a Hydrogeologist (Competition # This is a full-time field position based out of our Calgary, AB officeWhat to Expect:
As a hydrogeologist you will be exposed to project management, leading field investigations, proposal writing, data interpretation and client liaison.
You will lead and support the design and implementation of water resources studies, surface water and groundwater evaluations, and contaminated sites investigations working as part of a team with Junior and Senior Hydrogeologists and other scientists within the organization.
You will be part and young and vibrant organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Hydrogeologists, Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development and health and safety professionals, with an in-house IT department.
Job Duties:
You will carry out your duties for groundwater remediation and water resources integration.
The primary duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct field investigations including drilling and monitoring well installations, aquifer testing programs, surface water and groundwater flow modelling, hydrochemical evaluations and surface water and soil samplingOversee drilling and excavation programs, drive point installation and samplingManage soil, groundwater and surface water quality data and reportingComplete data analysis which may include hydraulic conductivity tests, pump tests, and water quality and database compilationSupport in the preparation of water resources, EPEA annual groundwater monitoring, Phase 1 and Phase 2 studies, remediation reports, and water resources evaluationsSupport execution of field scopes, proposal and report writingQualifications:University degree or diploma from a recognized institution preferably with a M.Sc.
in hydrogeology, Earth Sciences, environmental engineering, or geosciences3-5 years of consulting or industry experience in hydrogeologyData processing, scripting in Python, RStudio, PHREEQC, Aqtesolv and FEFLOWEligible to register as in geoscientist or engineer in training with APEGAProject management, budgeting, driving license, safety awarenessProficient with Alberta and Saskatchewan regulations and guidelines related to surface reclamationAbility to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environmentCompany Info:
