    The worldwide data management software market is massive (According to IDC, the worldwide database software market, which it refers to as the database management systems software market, was forecasted to be approximately $82 billion in 2023 growing to approximately $137 billion in 2027.     This role is part of the senior leadership team for MongoDB Education which includes MongoDB Documentation, MongoDB University (online learning), MongoDB Academia (college outreach) and MongoDB Press (books).

    The charter of MongoDB Education is to get millions of people to learn MongoDB.

    In this role, you will lead the Platform Engineering team that oversees all the platforms that deliver our learning capabilities.

    The biggest platforms are for Documentation which delivers 60M page views a year and University which delivers 20M page views per year.

    You will manage a team of 18 engineers who bring in the "best of class" technologies into our infrastructures, integrate them and also develop apps/extensions to meet our learning vision and needs.

    This role can be based out of one of our offices in Canada or the USA, or remotely in Canada or the USA.

    Lead the Platform Engineering team responsible for overseeing all learning capabilities platforms
    Manage and oversee the Documentation and University platforms
    15+ years of experience in the industry, and 5+ years of experience managing others
    ~ Experience with MongoDB (or at least a track record of solutioning with other databases)
    ~ Successful track record in managing a team of managers and engineers
    ~ Ability to work at a strategic level to contribute to the vision of Education and also at a tactical level to move projects forward
    ~ Passion to experiment with new technologies like AI and look at cross functional technical projects including back end, front end, web traffic and analytics projects
