    Graestone Ready Mix Inc. is seeking a qualified Customer Service / Inside Sales Representative for our Langley location. Reporting to the Dispatch Manager, the Customer Service / Inside Sales
    Representative provides customer service, is responsible for processing orders in computer software programs via call center, making recommendations, and selling value added products for our ready-
    mix product lines.

    Position Summary

    The primary objective of this position is to:

    • Take orders for concrete deliveries.
    • Monitor orders taken to ensure that value added, and premium services are offered.
    • Work with drivers, customers, sales, and staff to optimize delivery, plant, and staff utilization.
    • Work with dispatch, billing department and operations to ensure customer satisfaction pertaining to deliveries and invoicing.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Handle sales calls and provide recommendations to customers for value added products and premium services.
    • Simultaneously enter accurate and concise information into dispatching software while processing customer calls.
    • Quote customers within a defined pricing structure, including C.O.D.
    • Ensure the most cost-effective mixes are used.
    • Assist in promoting positive customer relations by addressing customer concerns and questions, and documenting issues clearly for the proper department or person responsible.
    • Communicate closely with team members to assure the timeliness of orders.
    • Ensure all extra charges (premium services) are documented and passed on to billing.
    • Gather and document information on current projects and upcoming projects for the sales, QC, and operations.
    • Work within Safety and Environment programs and policies.
    • Assist the Dispatch Manager in other areas as required.

    Additional potential responsibilities for successfully trained applicants may include:

    • Batch concrete at any Graestone Ready Mix plant locations.
    • Dispatch Ready Mix trucks to various sites throughout the Lower Mainland.

    Relationships with Other Jobs

    Experience and Qualification Profile

    • Basic computer skills required (Excel, Word, Outlook) coupled with experience navigating standard internet and technical ability to learn custom software applications.
    • Knowledge of Command Series Dispatch (list other) software systems a plus.
    • 3-5 years' experience in concrete technology, materials, and admixtures.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in concrete plant operation.
    • Ability to work under pressure with ever changing work deadlines.
    • Proven track record of exemplary customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to articulate in a clear, concise manner, disseminating complete and accurate information.
    • Ability to deal effectively with multi-cultural customers.
    • Ability to handle and deal with customer complaints in a professional manner.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, public and private agencies, and the general public.
    • Ability to multi- task.
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time.

    Working Conditions

    This is a full-time position in an extremely high-paced environment that will require overtime shifts
    and weekend work.
