    We are currently recruiting for a French/English Translator in the Burlington area.

    This full time, permanent position allows the applicant to work remotely 50% of each month, and is a great opportunity to build a long term career with a world leader in the pharmaceutical industry.


    The Translator is responsible for providing high-quality and accurate translations (mainly English to French and occasionally from French to English) of various materials, which may include, but not limited to, promotional materials, web content, internal communications, policies and procedures, product monographs etc.

    within the defined Service Level Agreements to meet the customers' needs.


    The ideal candidate will be someone who either has a bachelor's degree in French/English translation, or a minimum of 2 years equivalent work experience.

    They will be not only translating documents with medical terminology, but will assist in the development and standardization of terminology to ensure consistent branding.

    They will be a natural multitasker who enjoys a collaborative team setting, manages their time effectively in a high volume/fast paced environment, and are willing to accept constructive feedback to continue to improve an ever changing process.

    Advantages
    - $80,000 - $85,000 per annum based on experience

    Responsibilities

    • Provide translations that accurately convey the intended message while maintaining the style and language level of the original document, including social media content and campaign material adaptations
    • Proofread documents and packaging components to be published to ensure there are no errors in formatting and content which may result in rework or have legal implications to the organization
    • Assist with the development and standardization of terminology to ensure consistent branding and use of such terminology
    • Assist with managing and coordinating translation projects and outsourcing to external translators if needed
    • Assist with revising documents translated by internal translators and translation agencies upon request
    • Communicate with customers when needed for clarity or to ensure understanding
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in translation, or a minimum of 2 years of translation experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or a related medical/scientific field
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members and translation providers
    • Knowledge and understanding of Health Canada and industry regulations
    • Good working knowledge of business office software applications including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and computerassisted translation softwares (i.e. MemoQ)
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Strong attention to detail
