    Description

    At West Coast Seniors Housing Management, we see our communities as a family and we are equally committed to our residents and our staff.

    We invest in the growth and development of our teams to actively participate in the creation of memories and moments that matter to our residents.

    This role will also ensure that all persons served in Assisted Living and Independent Living receive quality care.
    Assesses residents against the criteria for Assisted Living for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities.
    Pre-admission and Admission assessment on all residents choosing to reside in the community. Collaborates with other leaders on delegation of tasks for Private Pay Assisted Living residents.
    Actively participates and facilitates community programs, meetings, committees and educational in-services.
    Maintains documents according to established standards, regulations, policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
    Provides direction and support to staff in their daily physical, psychological and social care of residents.
    Evaluates home support staff performance and makes recommendations for improvement where indicated.

    Encourages and adheres to a holistic philosophy of wellness, recognizing that each resident is independent and is capable of making decisions about their life and these decisions will be respected.

    Utilizing infection control procedures

    ~ Graduate of an approved program for Practical Nurses and holds a current full scope License with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
    Knowledge and understanding of the Assisted Living Regulations, Assisted Living Registry, and Community Care and Assisted Living Act.
    Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.

    Ability to effectively interact with the various individuals involved in providing holistic care in a flexible resident focused environment.

    Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment.
    Knowledge and experience with managing others, employment practices, and health and safety practices and policies.
    Must be willing to work the hours necessary to ensure the effective operation of the community.
