    Reporting to the Vice-President, Investments the Senior Analyst, Investment Data and Analytics will play a key role in data management, organizing and structuring our systems and tools for optimal flow and leverage of data from different sources, used by our Investment, Middle Office, and Accounting teams. In addition, this person will also be responsible for leading initiatives to enhance reporting, modeling and analytics assisting Treasury, Middle Office, and Portfolio Management.

    Location: Montreal, Quebec

    Work Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, hybrid in the office 3 days/week

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE

    Key responsibilities include:

    Data Management

  • Organize and structure investment and accounting data from various sources.
  • Built and manage databases related to the team's investment positions, returns, risk, and other investment-related data.
  • Collaborate with the Performance and Risk team for their data management and monthly/quarterly reporting responsibilities.
  • Implement data quality controls and conduct tests to validate data integrity.

    • Systems Management

  • Optimize scheduled processes for vendors systems and market data collection, investment valuations, and benchmarking data.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the team's internal systems or external vendors' systems and contribute to data migrations projects or new system implementation.

    • Investment Analytics & Processes

  • Lead initiatives to build new tools, integrate new systems, and automate internal processes for the Investment team.
  • Create analytical and visualization tools for various investment functions.
  • Collaborate with Treasury and the Middle office team to automate and streamline the trading and settlement process.
  • Collaborate with the Investment team and the Performance and Risk team for the quantification and modeling of risks for various investments.
  • Provide systems and technology support for portfolio management such as performance attribution analysis, risk monitoring, sector allocation, etc.
  • Work on ad hoc special projects for the Investment team, Treasury, and Middle office.

    • WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON

    The ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or in computer science, information technology or related field with a strong interest for investments / finance.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in investment data management, systems implementation, investment analytics, or related middle office functions.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Excel and proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, and Power BI.
  • General understanding of financial markets, investment vehicles, and various of asset classes.
  • Knowledge of investment softwares (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, Factset, MacroBond, etc.) or investment reporting and portfolio management softwares considered an asset.
  • Programming proficiency in Python or other languages considered an asset.
  • Autonomy and initiative.
  • Efficiency, strong problem-solving ability.
