We are looking for a Lab Technician in # North Fraser Way, Burnaby, B.Performs analyses with instrumentation (HPLC)
Utilize HPLC to determine concentration of desired concentration in the food or supplement sample.
Maintain chemistry quality control records and procedures for each test.
Record, and calculate analysis data to produce a report.
Prepare standards or reagents that are needed for the analysis procedure.
Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) required to complete job responsibilities.
Review batches and respond to out of specification results or questionable data.
Maintain equipment records in appropriate software systems.
Adhere to all safety policies.
A diploma in chemistry, microbiology or food science is preferred but previous experience is accepted.

A general understanding of the needs of the laboratory is required to avoid delays in sample testing or inaccurate results.

The incumbent works in the laboratory with proper lighting and temperature control.
Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur when in the laboratory.
The incumbent works in the laboratory with increased temperatures near the autoclave and washer.
The incumbent is required to wear masks, laboratory coat and insulated gloves when working with the media.
66 per hour.
