    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our dynamic research team for the Healthy Life Trajectories Initiative (HeLTI) Canada CIHR-funded program. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research focused on preconception health interventions and their impact on childhood development outcomes, with a particular emphasis on obesity and mental health prevention.

    Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pilot testing of preconception health interventions.
  • Assist in the systematic review and synthesis of existing literature related to preconception health and childhood development outcomes.
  • Organize and conduct participant interviews and focus groups to gather qualitative data on participant experiences and perceptions.
  • Perform quantitative data analyses using statistical software packages to examine the effectiveness of interventions and identify trends or patterns in the data.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to interpret findings and contribute to manuscript preparation for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals to secure funding for ongoing and future research endeavors.
  • Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in nursing, public health, epidemiology, psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong background in research methodology, including experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques.
  • Previous experience in conducting research from design to implementation to dissemination
  • Demonstrated experience in systematic literature reviews and synthesis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex research findings to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience with manuscript preparation and submission to peer-reviewed journals is preferred.
  • Prior experience in grant writing and submissions is desirable.
  • Knowledge of preconception health, lifecourse interventions, or childhood development research is an asset.
