With programs ranging from Diagnostic Imaging, Animal Health and Dental Health Sciences to Respiratory Therapy, Personal Fitness Training, Diagnostic Laboratory and Emergency Medical Services, our programs utilize a wide range of cutting-edge medical technologies.
In order to ensure our students receive the best exposure possible to our equipment, we require Biomedical Technologists to support instructional activities by performing on-demand repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance.
Currently we are recruiting for a casual Biomedical Technology Assistant to help with our summer maintenance program. This position requires a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preventative maintenance of SHLS medical equipment
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment failures.
- Assist in minor, noninvasive repairs of medical equipment.
- Complete detailed reports of all work performed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of basic repair and maintenance techniques and practices, safe work practices and policies, and safe driving rules and practices
- Ability to work independently or in a team situation
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
Qualifications:
- Completion of grade 10
- Minimum one year of Biomedical Engineering Technology (BET) program
- Equivalencies may be considered
Remuneration:
$ $25.31 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of stat holiday and vacation pay. (Classification - Maintenance Service Worker l).
- This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement._
