    ISL's Graphic Design team is looking for a designer to cover a parental leave. This position supports, creates, and maintains visual assets for business development.

    The job will be based in our Burnaby office, and is a temporary 18-month full-time position.

    A Little About Us:

    ISL's Marketing and Creative Service's Team is a tight knit, high energy group who supports all 14 of ISL's offices in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Yukon Territory. We:

    • Function as an in-house ad agency – we are ISL's marketing consultants
    • Are trusted advisors – we build relationships and understand our business to effectively support the communication and business development efforts of ISL Project Managers and internal teams
    • Always have time to be creative – offering project and client-appropriate solutions

    A Little About You:

    • Your ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines when working on a variety of simultaneous projects
    • How you anticipate needs, think logically and strategically, exercise good judgment and act independently as necessary
    • Your collaborative approach to graphic design for a business audience
    • A copy of your portfolio, demonstrating your ability to design effectively for a variety of audiences

    Your resume should show us:

    • Diploma or equivalent in new media production, graphic design, or related discipline
    • At least 5 years of highly relevant and impactful experience in graphic design and working on a graphic design team
    • Proficiency working with Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Experience consulting with a variety of stakeholders to establish the overall look, graphic elements, and content of communications materials
    • Previous experience working in an engineering or architectural office
    • Previous experience setting up a graphic asset management system
    • Knowledge of SharePoint

    You are no stranger to Creative Suite and can't decide which one is your favourite: InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop. Even with your Adobe devotion, you love to try all the new AI powered design apps out there and can appreciate their benefits.

    You love the idea of every day being different, with ever-changing deliverables and visual requirements. Opposite of a lone wolf, you want a creative environment where you interact with other designers, developing, learning, and sharing best practices and approaches.

    A Little More About the Role:

    The ideal candidate is a self-starter, organized and diligent, with an acute attention to detail. We are looking for someone who is effective under pressure, adept at working in both group and individual settings, and has the desire to learn and grow every day.

    • Creating and inserting graphics into a wide variety of business documents such as reports, proposals, project profiles and other technical or promotional materials
    • Ensuring that a high level of professionalism and quality is communicated through layout and the use of visuals
    • Acting as the gatekeeper of all project photos including permissions from clients, photo editing and enhancing, cropping, sizing, and formatting.
    • Contacting, coordinating, and working with corporate suppliers including those for signage and promotional items
    • Discovering and sharing new creative opportunities from automation and AI

    Depending on your experience level, the salary range for this position (based on a 40-hour work week) is:

    • $58, $28/hour) - $62, $30/hour)
