Description
Posting DetailsThe Department of Political Science at McMaster University invites applications for a one-year Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA). Applicants must have an area of specialization in Canadian politics and/or public policy, with a focus on public law and judicial studies.
The successful applicant must have or be very near completion of a PhD in Political Science, or a related discipline, by the time of the appointment.
The applicant must also demonstrate a record of excellence in teaching and research and a willingness and ability to contribute to the department's collegial and collaborative intellectual community as well as university-wide inclusive excellence goals and priorities.
The successful applicant will teach seven (7) courses per year, principally at the undergraduate level, and play a leadership role in the delivery of the .
The specific courses taught would be subject to negotiation, but a suggestive list includes:Force and Fear, Crime and Punishment; Constitutional & Public Law in Canada; Federalism; Honours Issues in Canadian Politics and Canadian Public Policy; Topics in Law & Policy; Charter of Rights and Freedoms; Judicial Studies.
