    Description

    Cybersecurity Governance Engineer - Banking Industry (Toronto)

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cybersecurity Governance Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in safeguarding our client's high-value assets in the banking sector.

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement and maintain a robust cybersecurity governance framework aligned with industry best practices like FFIEC, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and SOX.
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of Digital Crown Jewels (DCJ) and High Value Assets (HVA) using established methodologies.
    • Collaborate across all levels (1LoD, 2LoD, 3LoD) to identify and mitigate IT and cyber control environment vulnerabilities.
    • Lead application security risk assessments, security reviews, and IT/cyber control assessments.
    • Ensure adherence to best practices in data encryption, masking, tokenization, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) with a focus on Privileged Access Management (PAM).

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in cybersecurity governance within the banking industry (preferred).
    • Demonstrated expertise in DCJ/HVA identification, assessment, and risk management.
    • In-depth understanding of relevant frameworks: FFIEC, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, SOX, etc.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address IT/cyber control weaknesses.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across different levels and teams.

    • Knowledge of payment systems and payment processing workflows within the banking sector.
