    The Opportunity
    Joining their team means reporting directly to the VP of Finance as a Senior Financial Analyst. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the finance and reporting aspects of their multi-family real estate portfolio. You will closely collaborate with various business units, including Finance, Asset Management, Investments, and 3rd Party Capital Partners and Consultants, to meet the reporting needs of investor groups.

    Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for management at various levels, including senior management, property management, asset management, and other business unit leaders. This includes forecasting, variance analysis, and providing insights into operational key performance metrics.
  • Generate portfolio-level forecasting analyses for fund performance, Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations, distributions, commissions, and trailer calculations.
  • Produce external reports for investment partners, including property packages and quarterly asset management reports.
  • Manage quarterly and annual external stakeholder financial reporting, including MD&A external quarterly reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reporting for board members, including reporting packages and presentations.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process, coordinating with various stakeholders, reviewing regional budgets, and preparing summary presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate with departments for quarterly re-forecasting of annual budgets.
  • Assist in analyzing quarterly results and preparing comprehensive reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Contribute to the annual Offering Memorandum preparation and annual updates.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects, analysis, and reporting as required by senior management.
    • Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant technical discipline.
  • CPA designation with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in public accounting, Corporate FP&A, and/or external financial reporting is an asset.
  • Real estate experience, with asset management experience being an additional asset.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills and the ability to construct professional PowerPoint presentations.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, note disclosures, and relevant metrics.
  • Curiosity and a desire to understand key metrics and drivers.
  • Attention to detail and understanding of accounting principles, specifically IFRS.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle competing deliverables with accurate/timely delivery under tight timelines.
  • Experience with Yardi or other real estate-centric ERP is an asset.
