    The Job

    Warner Bros Discovery is in search of a Staff Software Developer for CNN's Breaking News team. CNN stands as the world's primary and captivating source of video and digital news, embarking on a vital quest to revolutionize the future of news and information experiences online. You will be part of a dynamic cross-functional team shaping innovative digital products, platforms, and formats that deliver CNN's talent, knowledge, and content programming directly to consumers, steering its future directions. The online sphere is reshaping the news and information scene, and we have an ambitious product strategy rooted in journalism and facts. Our team possesses a unique talent for blending content, design, product, and technology to foster connections, offer utility, and build communities.

    The Daily

    • Contribute to the architecture and execution of our consumer experiences primarily from a front-end perspective, with some full-stack requirements (approximately 80/20).
    • Bring to the table over 7 years of experience as a Software Developer, proficient in contemporary javascript frameworks like React, Svelte, and capable of enhancing the team's skills, capabilities, and craftsmanship.
    • Effectively convey intricate software concepts and business value in a manner that resonates with your audience.
    • Oversee code and architecture evaluations and uphold best practices within the organization by establishing and evolving engineering standards.
    • Engage primarily in modern Javascript and Typescript, leveraging AWS services.
    • Exude passion for software engineering with a strong sense of accountability for the code produced by you and your team.
    • Possess experience in devops, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, and adept at deploying products.
    • Embrace learning from research and experiments, opt for optimal solutions that align with the company's objectives.
    • Adopt a progressive development methodology, transitioning from proofs of concept to prototypes to production launches.
    • Engage in collaborative dialogues with the product design and development unit to choose strategies and implementation specifics focusing on resilience, agility, and simplicity.
