- A Bachelor's degree in Public Health Administration, Health Care Administration or Business Administration or a relevant field.

- Relevant, recent and significant experience working within BC's health care system (usually acquired over 8-10 years)
- Experience working with Indigenous individuals, communities and/or organizations in the area of health and wellness
- Experience planning, supervising, and evaluating programs and services
- Experience in the area of medical affairs and / or medical staff governance would be a considerable asset
- In-depth knowledge of the work of the FNHA, and the health and wellness landscape and governance model in BC as related to First Nations

Title: Director of Operations, Medical Affairs
Salary: $119,068 - $140,080 - $161,092 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Standard Hours (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Hybrid - (Anywhere in BC - Close to an Existing FNHA office)
About the role
As Director of Operations, you will provide operational leadership of medical staff including governance, credentialing and contracting, in accordance with federal and provincial legislation, policies and procedures. The Director of Operations leads the development and implementation of human resource strategies, including proposed organizational structures, the establishment of qualifications, recruitment, compensation models, cultural safety & humility standards including workplace conduct, standards, continuing medical education, leadership development programs, etc. as related to the hiring of medical professionals in the Primary Care projects led by BC First Nations. The position also provides leadership in the planning and implementation of medical administration initiatives related to the delivery of physician services in the BC First Nation led Primary Care projects. The position develops and maintains strategic relationships with the provincial Ministry of Health and all provincial health authorities, as well as Indigenous Services Canada and Health Canada at the federal level, with a view to advancing medical governance related matters, while ensuring the integration of the medical staff lens and voice into the planning and decision making processes of the projects.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
