- Utilize product knowledge to recommend alternatives to customers if their initial request cannot be met; upsell whenever possible. Participate in continuous product training to maintain thorough knowledge of the industry
- Communicate with Purchasing to ensure they are up to date with time requirements of orders, and alerting them of large orders that may deplete inventory
- Organize customer orders for pick up at the counter/Process counter returns
- Assist warehouse with order-picking, receiving, shipping or put away as needed
- Ensure that the Counter Zone is replenished daily
- Participate in counter promos, preparing showroom for counter days and change over monthly specials, including pricing and displays
- Participate in pager duties and Saturday counter shifts as scheduled
- 2-3 years product knowledge experience in the Plumbing and/or HVAC sector
- Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with our suppliers and customers
- Excellent organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks and maintain an abundance of paperwork
- Ability to meet strategic goals and objectives with little supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with high pressure for results
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, analyze the importance of situations and respond appropriately
- Good working knowledge of all areas of the ERP (Eclipse) systems
- Ability to utilize standard office equipment including computer, phone, copier, fax, etc.
