    POSITION TITLE:
    Machine Operator


    SHIFT:
    Weekend Shift

    MacLean Engineering is looking for a Machine Operator in our Metal-cutting area (saw / burn) to join our growing aftermarket production team in Barrie Ontario.

    This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing team, supplying aftermarket parts for heavy mobile mining equipment to various customers internationally, and to our other Ontario manufacturing plants.


    About the Position:
    This Machine Operator position involves handling raw material with an overhead crane, machine setup, and cutting parts with a number of metalworking machines This position requires the following proficiencies:

    Set up and operate two or more of a number of metalworking machines such as; overhead crane, gantry crane, and forklift in compliance with applicable safety standards and best practices.

    Material handling includes safe rigging and transportation of various loads
    Adopt and practice good housekeeping, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles
    Assist with the training of new Machine Operators
    Abide by all applicable regulatory and company-specific safety standards
    Abide by ISO 9001 Quality Management System and associated procedures
    Contribute to continual improvement of safety, quality, product, production, work environment
    Willing to cross-train in other departments as needed on a temporary basis

    About You:
    The successful candidate(s) must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized and detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, energetic, and must have a positive attitude, along with the following qualifications:
    Previous experience working safely in a manufacturing environment operating equipment
    Experience operating a band saw or plasma-arc burn table is an asset
    Forklift and overhead crane experience and certification is an asset.

    MacLean Engineering has three manufacturing facilities located in Collingwood, Owen Sound, and Barrie.

    Our workforce is comprised of various skilled trades working together in a safety and quality-oriented environment to produce components and equipment to the underground mining industry, as well as the municipal, environmental, and industrial sectors.

    Paid overtime after 40 hours worked
    $50 per hour shift premium for Afternoon Shift and Weekend Shift employees
    Weekend Shift employees are eligible to be compensated for 40 hours when full 36 hours worked
    Paid lunch break for employees working 10 and 12 hour shifts
    Flexible Group benefits Package (Once probationary period is completed)
    Voluntary DPSP (Deferred Profit-Sharing Plan) and GRRSP (Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan) (Once probationary period is completed)
    200 bi-annual prescription safety glasses allowance

    This position is for the following shift(s):
    Weekend Shift: 6:00 a.m. – Friday through Sunday (3 x 12 hour shifts)
