    Role: Tech lead Java

    Location: Toronto ON(Hybrid)

    Job Type: Contract

    Job Requirements

    Here are the minimum requirements for this position:

    • Bachelor's Degree.
    • 10+ years of progressively senior experience in technology design, development, and delivery.
    • Design and develop quality solutions consistent with project objectives.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain secure solutions that maximize system availability, keeping scalability, throughput and fault tolerance in mind.
    • Experience developing web applications, database driven applications and distributed systems.
    • Sense of urgency and ability to apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver solutions on the fly.
    • Participate in code reviews.
    • Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation as required.
    • Experience with SQL, Java, J2EE, HTML, Spring framework, Hibernate/JPA, MVC, REST Service, Microservices, API.
    • Experience working with Kafka Producer and Consumer applications.
    • Good understanding of JVM level knowledge, memory, garbage collection and performance tuning.
    • Working experience in all the common tool/utilities: Maven, GIT, Restful API testing, ftp, ssh, unix script, SSL encryption.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills - Able to read and debug the code.
    • Understanding and application of technology trends (banking industry and overall best practices)
    • Strong relationship building, influence skills and ability to productively interact with all levels of leadership
    • Strong facilitation, communication and presentation skills with tech and business audiences
    • Ability to create/modify/communicate tech roadmap, and design/advocate for solutions that align to existing roadmaps.
    • Leadership of others, in formal and/or informal organization lines
    • Strong collaboration skills working with other workstreams or project teams
    • Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.
