    Job Summary

    This role provides leadership and direction to the production department in regards to meeting or exceeding customer requirements

    Qualifications

  • Community college courses in Business related discipline preferred
  • Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of stamping processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Ability to lead a large team and strong problem solving skills
  • Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry; processes and operations
  • Thorough knowledge of stamping and assembly processes

    • Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervising Area Leaders, Operators, and Set-up Technicians; to ensure appropriate training, coaching, and discipline is given to ensure high performance of tasks to meet scheduled requirements
  • Identify, record, and report quality non-conformances and escalate to the Quality Manager. Prevent further processing, assembly, or delivery or non-conforming product
  • Investigate non-conforming product coming off their shift to troubleshoot issue
  • Develop production planning, communicates responsibilities, establish production time line, and ensure results are achieved for own department
  • Address all quality related problems and provide prompt resolutions and recommendations so as to minimize production interruption
  • Ensure that product identification, traceability, process control, packaging instructions are being followed at all times
  • Analyze downtime to identify and provide resolutions on all problems
  • Minimize costs of operating through proper planning and efficient use of all available resources
  • Monitor production boards hourly
  • Train operators to properly populate line side boards and monitor line side boards
  • Participate in internal quality audits to determine the effectiveness of the quality system
  • Monitor employee attendance; WFN time and attendance system
  • Review end of shift reports for accuracy
  • Search out, recommend, and implement process improvements
  • Assist plant leadership in driving and accomplishing key performance indicators
  • Assist in the hiring process and new associate orientation
  • Effective communication from shift to shift
  • Occasionally, may be required to participate in 5S activities outside and sustain housekeeping
  • Plan manning, assigning and monitoring production and prepare shift report on as daily basis
  • Willing to work shift as needed
  • Regular performance reviews for team members
  • Identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure employees follow safety guidelines
  • Ensure production targets are met and maintaining quality products
  • Ensure LPAs are performed as per schedule
  • Follow up and communicate with appropriate departments and close all outstanding issues within reasonable timeframe
