Description
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join its team in Fredericton, NB. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of financial management and operational excellence.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to minimize risks. Additionally, you will lead the annual budgeting process, providing financial analysis and recommendations to both the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
Your responsibilities will also involve closely monitoring cash flow and financial performance against budgetary goals, allowing you to identify areas for improvement. Furthermore, you will take the lead in preparing grant proposals and financial statements, showcasing your ability to communicate financial information effectively to various stakeholders. Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with department heads to streamline operations and optimize resources across the organization. Managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts will also be part of your duties, ensuring that the organization receives cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
As the ideal candidate, you hold a bachelor's degree in finance and preferably a CPA designation. You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the nonprofit or arts sector, and a strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting techniques, and financial analysis. Your proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational objectives will allow you to drive initiatives that will contribute to the long-term success and sustainability of the organization.
