    Nurse Supervisor - Alberta & British Columbia

    Reports to: Senior Nurse Manager

    The Nurse Supervisor has the responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of designated clinics to ensure they run smoothly and effectively. They are responsible for certain parts of the onboarding and training processes of clinical field staff. The Nurse Supervisor collaborates with the Nurse Management and Operations teams in planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring clinical programs to ensure clinic adherence to standards, policies, and procedures. The Nurse Supervisor observes, monitors, and measures nurse performance to ensure adherence to the goals and objectives set for the clinic.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Orients and trains clinical field staff to their job responsibilities.
    • Responsible for the new staff onboarding process by conducting side-by-side training, completing mock consults, monitoring progress, and providing feedback and reports to the Nurse management team.
    • Contributes to the development of training materials as requested by the Nurse Management team.
    • Responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing nursing staff and operational procedures in a daily, weekly and monthly way.
    • Implements organizational policies and procedures, and nursing standards and regulations by province.
    • Observes nurse/client consultations, reports to management any procedural and process changes needed to ensure accuracy and client satisfaction.
    • Audits charts to ensure accuracy and assist with performance related issues.
    • Delivers comprehensive in-clinic and telephonic client consultations in conjunction with Canadian Immunization Guide, CDC recommendations, and local Medical Director medical directives, in all the clinics in their supervised area.
    • Provides supplemental coverage in clinics on an as needed basis.
    • Provides leadership in clinical problem solving and serves as a resource for clinical field staff.
    • Ensures assigned clinics are following Passport Health standards, province-specific Public Health policies and various licensing and regulatory requirements.
    • Will be responsible for the on site actions needed for opening and relocating clinics.
    • Encourages positive employee relations by participating in incentives and recognition programs. Promotes employee engagement, teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.
    • Participates in the on-call rotation, including weekend and evening calls and answers nurse hotline line calls, using active listening and positive, respectful coaching techniques.
    • Assists with management of Zendesk tickets when not on-call.
    • Will work at least 3 shifts per week within a clinic in their supervised area.
    • Coverage of other province. Up to date with medical directives and administration of vaccines in other province.
    • Weekly reporting of nursing performance metrics ( VPR ) and action plan for nurses that are underachieving.
    • Other duties as identified and assigned.

    Qualifications

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3 - 5 years nursing experience.
    • 1 - 2 years of leadership/management experience.
    • 1 - 2 years of experience in nursing education, curriculum development, and staff training in a healthcare setting.
    • Able to travel to various locations within Canada.
    • Have good standing attendance.
    • Be able to work in a clinic 3 days a week.
    • Have access to a vehicle

    Required:

    • BSN
    • Current RN license in good standing
    • BLS
