Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experience providing administrative support to executive and senior level staff.
  • Experience working with highly sensitive material in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience formatting, editing and proofreading correspondence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience maintaining files, filing systems, document tracking and archiving.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with the public and staff over the phone and in person.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work efficiently with the public and staff.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.

Desired:

  • Experience working with Activities and Issues Management System (AIMS) or Shared Information Management System (SIMS).
  • Experience working with government administrative policies, processes and procedures including requirements for Treasury Board Submissions, Cabinet and Orders in Council (OIC's)
  • Experience working with Access Databases.

Duties:


Administrative Assistant:

Reporting directly to the Premier's Scheduling Co-ordinator, this position provides highly specialized, confidential and responsible office administrative support to the Premier and Senior staff.

Contact is at senior management level while working in a fast-paced, demanding, high volume work environment, establishing work priorities to meet strict deadlines.


Administrative Coordinator:

This is an administrative position in a fast paced, highly sensitive and confidential environment where the incumbent is expected to provide executive administrative support, including office management and administration, to the Directors of the Policy and Planning Committee of Cabinet Secretariat.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the Directors' time is used effectively in all respects. Using sound judgement, the incumbent will carry out tasks of considerable variety and complexity.
