TS- Outreach and Communications Assistant - Torchlight Shakespeare Festival

The Outreach and Communications Assistant will be responsible for assisting with communications and coordination of our Outreach performances, workshops and talk backs as well as assisting with other tasks as needed.


Responsibilities:


  • Working with our outreach partners to facilitate performance previews during our summer Shakespeare in the park tour.
  • Communicating with our school partners to organize and facilitate workshops and talk back sessions.
  • Conduct community outreach based on the developed strategy
  • Handling communications between partners and the company.
  • Coordinating technical, logístical and promotional requirements and information for all presentations and workshops.
  • Assisting with online social media platform logistics and preparations and collaborating with different departments.
  • Assisting with social media engagement and promotion.
  • Assist with database maintenance.
  • Assist with problemsolving and monitoring events.
  • Work with other staff and take on other appropriate projects.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and to work under pressure in dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure with and tight deadlines and a sense of humour
  • Experience/interest in creative projects
  • Occasional availability to assist the tour crew.

Additional Qualifications Required:
Eligible to participate in Ontario's Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:

  • An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week (part-time students and graduates may apply)
  • Live in Ontario
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

Have one, or both, of the following criteria:
a. Established an Employment Insurance (EI) benefit claim (regular or maternity/parental benefits ONLY)

b.

Paid employee payroll premiums, i.e., employed in Canada, in five of any five of the last ten years while earning an annual income of at least $2000 (gross).


Remuneration:
$620 (gross) per week for 32 hours ($19.375 average per hour) provided by the Province of Ontario.


Salary:
$19.38 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
