We are seeking a Senior or Principal Mining Engineer / Ingénieur minier senior ou principal.

Description of Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior or Principal Mining Engineer to be based remotely in the province of Québec.

SRK is looking to expand our emerging presence in Quebec, with the opportunity to work remotely and/or within established SRK offices. As a Senior or Principal Mining Engineer, you will have the opportunity to join one of the largest and most experienced mining teams globally, with a diverse cross-section of geologists and engineers.

The successful candidate will provide technical support and focussed consulting advice on mining projects for North American and international clients. The work will typically include contribution to technical studies, due diligence, operational assistance and project management. As a Mining Engineer this position also includes the expectation to develop and maintain a client network in collaboration with the Ontario mining team. There will be an opportunity and expectation to continuously develop your technical skills and industry knowledge to further assist the SRK Ontario team, with offices in Sudbury and Toronto.

Description des responsabilités:

SRK cherche à étendre sa présence émergente au Québec, avec la possibilité de travailler à distance et/ou au sein des bureaux établis de SRK. En tant qu'ingénieur minier senior ou principal, vous aurez l'opportunité de vous joindre l'une des équipes minières les plus importantes et les plus expérimentées au monde, composée de géologues et d'ingénieurs.

Le candidat retenu fournira un soutien technique et des conseils spécialisés sur les projets miniers pour des clients nord-américains et internationaux. Le travail comprendra généralement une contribution aux études techniques, à la diligence raisonnable, à l'assistance opérationnelle et à la gestion de projet. En tant qu'ingénieur minier, ce poste implique également de développer et de maintenir un réseau de clients en collaboration avec l'équipe minière de l'Ontario. Il y aura une opportunité et une attente de développer continuellement vos compétences techniques et vos connaissances de l'industrie pour aider davantage l'équipe de SRK Ontario, avec des bureaux à Sudbury et à Toronto.

Essential Requirements:

• A minimum of an undergraduate degree in mining engineering or related field;
• At least 10 years of practical experience in mining engineering, in operations and/or consulting;
• Professional registration with the Ordre des Géologues du Québec (OGQ) or the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
• A high level of proficiency in both spoken and written French and English is necessary for this position;
• Advanced level of technical skills in mining engineering;
• Proficient in mine planning and optimization software tools, preferably Deswik;
• Sufficient knowledge of the main aspects of mineral projects to enable identification of study risks and opportunities;
• Demonstrated project management skills;
• Advanced level of interpersonal and collaboration skills;
• High level of effective communication and leadership qualities while working in a team environment;
• Ability to establish and maintain client relationships, with a preference for existing relationships within the Québec mining industry; and
• Capacity to act as a Qualified Person or equivalent to satisfy requirements for National Instrument and/or other international reporting codes.

This position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects both nationally and overseas; domestic and international travel may form a significant part of the role.

Exigences essentielles:

• Diplôme en génie minier ou dans un domaine connexe;
• Au moins 10 ans d'expérience pratique en génie minier, en exploitation et/ou en consultation;
• Inscription professionnelle à l'Ordre des géologues du Québec (OGQ) ou à l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
• Un niveau élevé de maîtrise du français et de l'anglais parlés et écrits est nécessaire pour ce poste;
• Niveau avancé de compétences techniques en génie minier;
• Maîtrise des outils logiciels de planification et d'optimisation minières, de préférence Deswik;
• Connaissance suffisante des principaux aspects des projets minéraux pour identifier les risques et les opportunités liés aux études;
• Compétences démontrées en gestion de projet;
• Niveau avancé de compétences interpersonnelles et de collaboration;
• Niveau élevé de communication efficace et de qualités de leadership tout en travaillant en équipe;
• Capacité à établir et à maintenir des relations avec les clients, avec une préférence pour les bonnes relations existantes avec l'industrie minière Québécoise; et
• Capacité à agir en tant que personne qualifiée ou équivalent pour satisfaire aux exigences de l'instrument national et/ou d'autres codes de déclaration internationau.

Ce poste implique de travailler en équipes multidisciplinaires sur une gamme de projets tant au niveau national qu'à l'étranger ; les voyages nationaux et internationaux peuvent constituer une partie importante du rôle.
