    Description

    Location:
    Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)

    Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for aLooker Developer, GCPwith a strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join the dynamic data analytics team.

    Design and develop complex LookML models, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.

    Translate business requirements into actionable data models and visualizations.

    Implement robust testing and deployment strategies for Looker content.

    Establish and optimize secure connections between Looker and GCP data warehouses (e.g., Manage data pipelines and transformations within the GCP environment.

    Work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and end-users to understand requirements and deliver insights.

    Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members on Looker best practices and data visualization techniques.

    10+ years of experience in BI report development which includes significant hands-on LOOKER development including advanced knowledge of LookML (AI component of LOOKER).


    ~10+ years of experience in BI reports migration

    ~ Demonstrated expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery or other GCP data stores.

    ~ Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.

    ~ Experience in Agile development methodologies.

    Experience with Git version control

    Experience with Oracle databases

    Background in data warehousing and ETL processes

    Understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis techniques

    Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex cloud concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
