    The company's state-of-the-art fleet consists of 15 GEO satellites, the Canadian payload on ViaSat-1 and one LEO 3 demonstration satellite.

    The Telesat Lightspeed System Configuration Management Specialist will be a System Specialist working closely with the Systems Engineering team and in particular with the System Integration, Verification and Validation team.

    This position is within the Configuration Management Office and will support the CMO and various segment Project Managers and Leads working on the Lightspeed Program.

    The ideal candidate has previous experience as a Configuration Management and is enthusiastic about being part of a team that is diverse and at the top of its game.

    Main Responsibilities - System Configuration Management
    Attention to detail with respect to managing hardware and software development environments, and program technical data.

    Manage configuration baselines:
    Single source of truth of the different elements feeding into the Verification Team to manage the technical baseline.
    Owner of all documentation defining configuration and verification status of the system
    Control/document HW and SW configuration, as built
    Tasking in this role will include the use of CM tools for configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, configuration verification and audits, product release and delivery and provide solutions to a variety of CM technical challenges
    Main Responsibilities - System Document/Requirements Management

    Ensure that vendor deliverable documentation (Systems and IVV Contract Data Requirement List/Subcontract Data Requirement List (CDRL/SDRL)) are identified and tracked to schedule.

    Ensure the internal Telesat Data requirements are identified and tracked to schedule, including release of all Technical Requirements Documents, Interface Requirement Documents, and Interface Control Documents.

    Resolves data issues, distributes schedule notices for pending data submittals to ensure on-time delivery and creates status reports for management review and action.

    Process Definition & Implementation; Define/Update Process for requirements management in engineering tools.
    Ability to do clear and concise presentations to various audience levels including to the management team.
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science, or College Degree
    ~5-7 years experience in Engineering or related field
    ~ Experience working in an Engineering design environment, interfacing with Hardware, Systems, Software, and Test Engineers
    ~ Experience using Software configuration management processes and tools

    Education & Experience - Asset
    ~2+ years of related experience in Data Management or Configuration Management
    ~ Strong verbal and written communication skills in dealing with clients, internal and external stakeholders, senior management and staff
    ~ Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical individuals
    ~ Must demonstrate a flexible, open-minded attitude and have strong interpersonal skills
    ~ Bilingual in English and French an asset (but not required)

    The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP ) In this role, the incumbent will have significant influence on the execution of the applications and infrastructure for the Lightspeed program.

    This role has no direct reports, but will work and interact with multi-disciplinary engineering, contracts, legal, and commercial teams.
